By arrangement with Hedge End Town Council on Tuesday 6th December at 2 p.m. we will be planting a Tree in St Johns Recreation Ground opposite the Church. The Tree will be a Wild Service Tree (Sorbus torminalis) and has been donated by our Church as part of our ECO church programme.
The council team will dig the hole and and be ready for us to come and use their spade to fill in some earth for a photoshoot at 2 p.m.
Everyone is welcome to come and join the celebration.
A Wild Service tree is a plant Native to this country which is in the same family as a Rowan tree.
We have already achieved a Silver Award with the Eco Church programme and are now going for Gold.
