During the COVID-19 pandemic Action for Children has continued to work with, and support, some of the most vulnerable children and families in the UK.

They helped 604,885 children, young people and families in 2020 to 2021. Their family services helped 10,000 children during the COVID-19 pandemic while they managed to keep 99% of their local services open. Their Children’s centres helped more than 86,000 children and families.

In the last three years they have provided more than 34,000 hours of mental health support with 74% of users stating their mental health had improved as a result of this work.

Across the UK they run 512 services in local communities and they continue to step in to protect children from neglect and abuse and help those who care for others.

Action for Children have been shortlisted to become the next charity partner of Morrisons. This could be worth an incredible £10.5 million, which would enable the charity to help more than 3 million children. The chosen charity is voted for by the staff at Morrisons so, if you know someone who works for the company, please encourage them to vote for Action for Children.

All the services provided by the charity of course costs money. Following the emptying of the congregations Home Collecting Boxes this year we have sent £351.22 to Action for Children to assist them with their ongoing work. As always, our thanks to those who donate.
