On Thursday 11th October some of us attended the Southampton District Methodist Women in Britain “Celebration Day” which was held in Verwood Methodist Church.
The Main Speaker was Sandra Goodwin the President of MWIB who gave us two talks the first was entitled “Titfers, Tatties, and Toilets” and was about her trip to Bolivia. It could read Hats, Potatoes and Toilets. The second talk was about Water and the inequalities in the availability of water in the world. We also enjoyed hearing about the recent travels of Alison Judd the World President of Methodist and United Church women (MWIB is a member of this organisation). More about Alison and the Federation can be found in the article on this site.
The day was not all serious we had plenty of time in between the talks to make new friends and catch up with old ones . The Southampton District covering a wide geographical area which stretches as far south as Yeovil.
