Poppies for Remembrance

We are planning to “Yarn bomb” an area of the church to create a memorial to those who gave their lives during the First World War. The idea is to knit or crochet as many poppies as we can which will then be joined together to create a blanket and be on display during November 2018. The more poppies we get, the greater area we can cover.  If you can help with this by knitting or crocheting some poppies please  ask the stewards to direct you to the person with the patterns who  also have some wool which can be used. Also if anyone has unwanted black buttons that can be used for centres they would be appreciated. Completed poppies will need to be handed in by the end of August so they can be sewn together. We already have a couple of hundred Red and White Poppies, and would like to thank those people who have kindly made these.
