Womens World Day of Prayer



Please note that the service on 2nd March has been postponed due to the weather conditions. A new post will be created giving details of new arrangements when known.

This Service is run by Churches together in Hedge End and Botley as part of the Women’s World day of prayer. The idea of Women’s World day of prayer is that identical services take place in the same 24 hour period throughout the world. This year the service has been arranged by the Women of Suriname . In  recent years the Women of The Phillipines, Cubu, The  Bahamas and Egypt have arranged the service. The Women’s World Day of Prayer was started by a group of Methodists and Presbyterians in America in 1887, the first service in England was held in 1932.

This years service will take place at All Saints Church Botley on Friday 2nd March  starting at 7.30 p.m.

The Theme for the service is “All God’s Creation is very good”.

All are invited to attend  including Men.

In preparation for the service a bible study will take place at St Johns Church on Monday 12th February starting at 10.15 and finishing around 1 p.m. The Study will be led by Deacon Carole Smith.   If you wish to attend please bring a packed lunch with you.
