There are several events during Hedge End Methodist Church’s celebration of Christmas this year. Details are given below:- In addition to these highlighted events our normal Sunday services will take place throughout December.
Many of us will be joining our fellow Methodists at Woolston Methodist Church for the Midnight service (at 11.30 p.m. on Christmas Eve). This service will be led by Rev. Arthur Cowburn who is the Minister of Woolston and Hedge End Churches. Many people from Woolston joined at us Hedge End for last years Midnight service. There will not be a Midnight service at Hedge End.
This will take place on Sunday 4th December starting at 12.30. The meal will cost £10, any proceeds will go to Church Funds. The Menu consists of Roast Turkey, two types of Potatoes and Vegetables. Followed by a choice of Christmas Pudding, Apple Pie or Cheese and Biscuits. Booking forms are now available, and need to be returned by 27th November to faciliate Catering Arrangements . .Sorry we can only feed people on the day who have booked.
We will be celebrating Christmas by Crafting, Eating and Watching the Puppets between 10.30 and 12.30 on Saturday 10th December although this activity is primarily designed for families, people of all ages are welcome to attend. Sunday Christmas Celebration
On Sunday 11th December at our usual time of 10.30 a.m. Rev Arthur Cowburn will be leading our Sunday Service. This service will be for people of all ages and will include a Christmas based activity.
This will take place in the Church on Sunday 18th December at 4. p.m. and will include Bible Readings and Carols interlaced in the traditional Manner. The service will be led by Rev Arthur Cowburn and the Church Choir.
Christmas Morning Service
There will be a service at 9.30 (Not the Usual Sunday time of 10.30 p.m. its earlier to accomodate peoples cooking) on Sunday 25th December. This short service will be conducted by Rev Geoffrey Scarlett. We celebrate the coming of the Christ Child, lightheartedly and with Joy on this special day.
